I just love your site, Duane. I play several instruments, all by "ear," including the accordian. My problem is that I'm limited to playing songs that I've actually "heard." I have an old Noble Power Tone (probably 50 years old)and I'm ready to start learing to read music. I think your lessons are going to be just perfect to help me reach my goal. I started about two months ago with a 12-Bass found in the bulk trash, and I'm now at Lesson 8 and bought a used 120 Bass. I'm having some fun trying to learn the accordion with your site. I've got a small but full 120 bass instrument and I have a question I hope you can help me with. I'm good with playing the C and G bass notes and major chords, but when I got to Lesson 7 and adding the F, I'm having a little trouble. Should I be sliding my wrist up and down to make the distance or should this all just be under my fingers without feeling the need to move my whole hand (and thus, my wrist). This feels awkward. I imagine at some point I would have to move my hand when playing more distant positions on the bass side and I can't imagine how that's done. how can you slide your hand up and down; what's supporting that side of the instrument? Thanks for any help you can provide as I'm just a little confused about this.

My big brother had an accordion when I was little, but I was never allowed to touch it. Now I'm in my 50s and I bought myself an accordion on ebay, which turned out being a good deal. I so appreciate your lessons! I'm nearly through all of them and feel like I have truly learned something new that I'd wanted all my life. Thank you so much.
